‘Hero’ Hong Kong policeman praised after talking a man out of committing suicide

A Hong Kong policeman has been branded a national hero at only 20 years old.

Ifzal Zaffar managed to talk a suicidal Pakistani man out of killing himself – and was the only one around who could speak fluent Urdu.

The distressed man had climbed to the top of a construction site and was going to jump to his death when police werfe called to the scene.

Because of Mr Zaffar’s words, the man decided to be helped down and was admitted to hospital.
